Here is color code for our 3rd gens from the ign. switch: +12 volt is red, +12 v ignition is pink, starter is purple or white(depending upon year).To check for this,take a test light and probe the white wire and crank the engine.If the light comes on,that's the starter wire. If not then try the purple wire. Accessory is brown, parking light wire is brown from the light switch, door trigger is the white wire from one of the courtesy lights under the dash. As far as the power source goes, you can go directly to the battery or you can splice into the red wire from the ign harness.Either way, you must use the in-line fuse.
